Wedding Dress Details You Can't Forget
Once you have found the perfect dress and ordered it, you'll want to take care of a few other details.
- Update your budget. Your wedding dress (and fittings) can quickly add up to 5-10% of your wedding budget. If you don't have a budget yet, use our free Budget Tracker to create your budget now!
- Schedule your fittings as soon as you order the dress. You can always change your appointments if something comes up later, but this way you pencil in time on the calendar now.
- Stay in touch with the bridal shop. The amount of time needed to deliver a dress can vary by designer, so you'll want to make sure the dress you fall in love with is ready on time.
- Make yourself available for multiple fittings. Once the dress is in, it can often take several months to get alterations done.
Most brides pick out new lingerie or accessories to wear on their wedding day. If you are getting any special accessories, make sure they are ordered and in your hands by them time the dress is ready. That way you'll have everything you need for your fittings.
Plan for all of these details, update your budget from time to time, schedule fittings early and then check in periodically to make sure everything stays on schedule. Knowing everything is going well with your wedding dress should help with your peace of mind.
