How To Protect Your Engagement Ring

How To Protect Your Engagement Ring

You have a beautiful new ring and are excitedly beginning wedding planning. Before you let too much time pass, make a quick call to your insurance agent to find out if the company offers insurance for personal items.

Most homeowners or renters insurance policies offer an additional rider for jewelry, so talk to an insurance agent to find out what would be covered and what wouldn't. When it comes to your engagement ring, a few dollars a week can be a small price to pay for peace of mind.

If your fiancé bought the wedding band at the same time as your engagement ring, go ahead and insure that too. It's one less thing you will have to do after the wedding! If you are buying your wedding bands later, remember to contact your insurance agent again after the wedding.
