Making Your Wedding Guest List Final
You've created your Guest List. What an exciting time for you and your family! Wedding planning really begins once you have your guest list done.
That means now it's time to make the tough choices (the ones that only a bride and groom can make together).
Going through the Guest Lists for your different events can often bring up sensitive topics. Maybe your groom hasn't spoken to his father recently, or you want to invite an ex-boyfriend... there is a lot to discuss. That's why it's important that you and your fiance do it together.
Think of this as an opportunity to work towards a common goal — your dream wedding. Invite people to your wedding that will celebrate your happiness!
The main Guest List tab has all of the people you've added so far. At a glance you can see who has been invited to your different events. The red X's will help you quickly identify where information is missing, so it's a great place to start.
Go through each guest on your list, deciding together which events each should be invited to. Once you have added them to an event (like your Wedding Ceremony), their information will also be listed under that tab. This give you the flexibility to look at all of your guests together on the Guest List tab, or individually under each event.
If you are on a budget, maybe you can't afford to invite everyone you'd like to include. If you find yourself in that situation, you have three options:
- Expand your budget. This can come from your savings account or perhaps from family.
- Pare back on the extravagances. Perhaps you don't really need to set doves free after the wedding.
- Cut back on the guest list. Maybe your fourth cousin isn't a "must-have" wedding guest.
Only the two of you know what is right for you emotionally and financially. Whatever you decide, it's good to sleep on it. Talk about the list one last time before you finalize it, and then go ahead and share your decisions with your family.
It's a huge "to-do" off of your list so take a moment to enjoy it!
